Arisaema barnesii is a beautiful and compact species to around 40cm in height, although often smaller. Petiole and peduncle colour can vary from reddish brown through to green, although the spathe is always white with greenish stripes. The spadix is small and thin, and ends in a small lump / knob. The spathe is held just below the leaf.
The tuber is subglobose and relatively small, reaching around 2.5 or 3.5cm in diameter. Sessile offsets or bulblets are produced in abundance on mature tubers.
Seeds and germination:
Seeds can be stored dry with no significant loss of viability.
